ASME-Leadership Training Conference 2013
ASME India organised a Leadership
Training Conference at B. H. Gardi college of Engineering and Technology, Rajkot
on 20th July, 2013 with an aim of providing networking opportunities
to the ASME members and creating awareness regarding volunteering and
leadership. Conference was blessed by the presence of Dr. Natteri Sudharshan-the ASME India Section
Chairperson, Mr. Madhukar Sharma-The Country Manager India section, Mr. Yash
Gupta-Vice Chair of ASME India Section, Mr. Rishi Saharia-Vice Chairperson of
SDOB India, Mr. Abhinav Gupta-Treasurer at ASME India section, Mr. Aditya
Sharma-Head of Website and Technology at ASME India section, Mr. Dilshad
Sulaiman-Member of ASME at society level, Mr. D.V. Mehta-Chairman of Shri
T.V.Mehta charitable trust, Prof. S.B. Jadeja-Secretary of ASME India section
and also the Executive Director of Gardi Vidyapith.
Around 150 students along with 25
professionals across India attended the conference. There was a video
conference with Marian Heller, Senior programming manager of global
communication who introduced with the working structure of ASME and provided
guidance and encouragement to the associate members. She also gave a brief
information about Engineer for Change (E4C) which is a social network that
provides the platform to the engineers round the globe to connect and share.
This was followed by the launch of new membership model by Mr. Madhukar Sharma.
After which Mr. Abhinav Gupta introduced with the structure of District G. Next
was Rishi Saharia who threw more light on the activities carried out by ASME
India student board. Head of website and technology, Mr. Aditya Sharma gave a
brief introduction on the revised version of asme.org Phase 2 with an aim of
encouraging virtual student participation on web. This was followed by Mr. Dilshad
Sulaiman's presentation on volunteer recruitment & participation. Finally
there was Creative Workshop on Frugality by Prof. Anil Gupta-an experienced
faculty serving IIMA since years. In this workshop, the Students were made to
show videos related to the concept of Frugality. Few lucky students were also
given the opportunity to visit IIMA based on the model/concept made on the
concept of frugality. The conference was brought to an end with a vote of
thanks by Mr. Yash Gupta. Every one departed after having a cup of tea and
snacks along with the feeling of satisfaction and happiness.

- Tushti Bhatla from Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTU), witnessed the sweetness and the helping attitude of Gujarati People, loved the lush green campus and the supporting environment.
